… And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate,
a girl named Rhoda came to answer. When she recognized Peter's voice,
because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and
announced that Peter stood before the gate. Acts 12:13-14
We are honored to have you visit today, and hope that the gifts of God that are shared here will be a blessing to you. Rhoda's House Intercessory Prayer Ministries was birthed in the heart of Bishop Raymond Allan Johnson, in the aftermath of a storm in Indonesia that took the lives of literally hundreds of thousands of individuals; and the tragic events of 9/11, in New York City.
Grappling with tragedies of this magnitude, the only response we could give was to pray. So many lives tragically lost, and there was nothing the Saints could do … except to pray.
"I wept for a week, after 9/11. When that was over, I was left with a question, in my spirit:
'Wouldn't it be something …
[for every tragedy, crisis, emergency, loss, or unexplained phenomenon] …
if somebody prayed?
"God told me that I should do something to push that question forward into the Kingdom. What if there could be intercessors on duty, 24 hours a day, who could press the Saints into specific, targeted, strategic prayer, IMMEDIATELY after some tragic event happened somewhere in the world? What if there were in place, 24/7, praying for those who cannot pray for themselves? What if there were intercessors on standby, to pray for u readers and for wisdom in governance? And what if these intercessors were based around the world, so that our world would be saturated with prayer?
"The Spirit drew my attention to the story in Acts chapter 12, where the angel of the Lord set Peter free from Herod's prison. After his release Peter made his way to the home of a Saint named Mary, who was the mother of John Mark. When he got to the door, a young lady named Rhoda came to the door, and was startled that it was Peter who was at the door. I remembered a sermon I'd heard, years before, where the preacher imagined that the Saints had been inside this house, interceding on Peter's behalf; and
It is from this that the Lord deposited the name "Rhoda's House into my spirit, for this intercessory prayer ministry."

In the U.S., I was a "bi-vocational" minister — meaning
I worked full-time on a regular job, and pastored part-time. When the
recession began to affect the auto industry, God opened a
marvellous door of opportunity for me to work and minister in China. I came there
with a plan to return to the States, after one year; but as
circumstances worsened for Ford Motor Company, back home, China offered a
little more stability; so I ended up staying for seven years.
A few months after I arrived, something amazing and unexpected
happened. I was introduced to a Ford manager who had just rotated
out of Jiangling Motors — the Ford Motor Company joint venture
who brought me to China. He in turn introduced me to a young "house
church" pastor, named Immanuel. We started a fellowship in
my home, with 11 people, that quickly grew to as many as 50 people.
By the time my contract ended with Jiangling I'd decided to stay
in China, indefinitely.
There was another American brother, named "Brother John,"
whose wife introduced me to a person in the Foreign Affairs
Office of Nanchang University; and I was hired to teach English.
I remained at Nanchang University until December 2011 —
about five years, in all.
Rhoda's House came alive, again, while I was in China. With a twelve-hour time difference, God allowed me to see
how including intercessors from the Church over there into this VISION, we could actually have intercessors there
praying for Saints over here, while they slept — and Saints in America could be praying for those on the other sideof the world, while they slept.

Technology has afforded us a platform to do global ministry, in real time. As "Y2K" drew near, I found myself sitting at my desk in Dearborn, thinking about the marvellous technological achievements that had taken place up to that point in my life — and that thanks to the internet a vagabond from the West Side of Detroit could sit at his desk and do ministry anywhere in the world — and I thought to myself, "This is an AMAZING time to be alive!"
And now that same vagabond is sitting at his desk again, having been halfway around the world and back doing ministry. Time and circumstances caused me to have to postpone the work of intercession, through Rhoda's House; but recently God has begun aligning me with others who can play a role in bringing the ministry back to life. And advancements in technology will enable us to build the ministry to a global scale. We are launching the Acts1513project website as a powerful first step in bringing this ministry to life.
I pray that God will permit me to continue to have a vision for
His people, to b able to be a viable source of "meat in due season,"
for many decades to come; and I pray that in you my network of
Ministry partners will continue to expand.

I'm so glad you asked.
We first committed the VISION for Rhoda's House to writing, in January 2010.
I have taken the liberty to include that full presentation here, on the pages that follow.
Just step through the gateway, below (click on the French doors), for the rest of the story.
Then meet us on Prayer Mountain, so we can tell you where we believe you fit in.
